10 Types of Travelers That You Will Meet At Least Once in Your Life

Weve all met them before. Heck, weve also been them at some point. Picky travelers, dandy travelers, lost travelers, cost travelers weve all been there and seen that.   Did you know that when you travel you become an exaggerated version of yourself? Or so it seems for sure. If we were to ask you about the most unique kind of tourists youve met on your journeys, were pretty sure youd have a long list yourself. Does the following list ring a bell?

1.The Obsessive Sanitizer

Have you ever wondered where the sporadic spells of the pungent ethyl alcohol smell are coming from? Theres always this person in the group that is obsessive about cleaning his hands or washing his face. As if the germs in a new place smell a foreign presence and rush to get a piece of this exotic meat! But you have to admit, a clean freak is much better than sitting next to someone who believes baths are overrated!

2.The Compulsive Tourist

This type of tourist has a thirst to take it all in on one trip. This Mr.I-want-to-see-it-all is someone who does not want to miss a single sight, smell or sound of a new place. So whether its optional museums, bird parks or dolphin shows- tourist attractions that most people opt out of; you would have this person sitting on the front seat of the tour bus, intently listening to every word of the tour guide, eagerly looking forward to seeing it all!

3.The Hard-to-Please Snob

Is this what youre excited about!? he said, I have seen so much better.  Every trip has someone like this. The I-am-above-all attitude of such travelers irks many fellow travelers and this person is eventually left isolated in his pride. Someone rightly said, A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool.

4.The Incessant photographer/Social media freak

All of us carry cameras on our holidays. But its almost like this kind of traveler takes photos with a vengeance. Every colorful bug, wild flower, cloud, mountain and statue is captured along with a million selfies that are promptly uploaded across social media networks. Whats most annoying is that you have to oblige each time he asks you to click him next to a random pillar or building entrance.

5.The Eternal Sob

This person is probably the unhappiest traveler on the trip. Always complaining and frowning over something, there is no pleasing this guy. It goes all the way from the hotel bed, to the breakfast buffet, to the long queues at tourist spots. Such a pity that this person will never be able to discover the happiness that travel can give us!

6.The Lost Artist

Youd instantly know when there is an artist in the group. Youd find them with their guitar instead of the map or a paint brush instead of the camera. Always lost in their own world and looking for inspiration, you cant help but feel a mix of emotions like awe, love and sympathy for this girl/guy. Please resist the urge to request him to paint your portrait!

7.The Loud Mouth

Its been a long day on the road. Youre trying to catch your much needed forty winks. Just when youre about to drift into a peaceful slumber, you are jolted awake by this person next to you who is talking as loudly as youd talk to a partially deaf person. Or trying to make you one! Ear plugs seem like the best invention on earth now, dont they?

8.The Hearty Hippie

Oh, dont we love these kinds of people? Easy going, full of heart and carefree beyond words, the hippie is truly free. Dressed in tatters, this person will share not just their food but also their heart and soul with you. Not one for fresh clothes, deodorants or showers, you might have to close your nose when you sit close!

 9.The Insatiable Palette

They say the best way to really know a place is to sample its food. This person has perhaps taken this advice a bit too seriously. An unquenchable hunger to taste everything that counts as local, this person wants to sample it all. So whether its recently fermented alcohol or any other insect/bug/strange vegetable that passes off as local, is going in their stomach. Talk about a varied palette!

10.The Social Animal

Everybodys friend, The Social Animal is making buddies wherever he goes. His love for meeting new people and striking bonds with everyone, takes him places. This person will return home with not just memories but also friends for life. The life of the party and the apple of everybodys eye, this person is great to have around!
